Recently, I was honored having been asked to travel to Africa to speak with a group of women who had been invited to attend a Key Women’s Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme was geared towards empowering women to prosper. However, this particular group was experiencing serious problems in regards to relating effectively with each other due in part because of tribal, men, and women issues. So, I realized going into that this particular undertaking that it would take more than just mere words to be effective. I needed a miracle.
Recognizing my limitations and time constraints, I did what came naturally. I prayed for God’s help. Well, within the next few days I receive my answer. However, it came in the form of a serious personal injury. No, God did not bring this offense upon me. However, what He did He imparted something into my soul that would forever bring forth life-changing revelation.
Not paying attention, I had accidently jammed and broke one of the small bones on the right side of my foot. After going through a demonstrative display of emotions I was finally able to assess the injury. While in the midst of the pain I also became acutely aware that something amazing had taken place. I became conscious of the fact that the “unaffected” parts of my body had joined in to help ease the pain it was experiencing. Eureka!!! What a model. What an illustration. Now this is what I would call “Body Talk”.
In ONE unsolicited action, from the top of my head to my neck, shoulders, back, arms, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, hips, knees, feet, and all of my senses, came to my rescue. No one needed to send a memo before it acted. ”A member of the community was down and something needed to be done about it. The entire “body-community” is now seen working together for the greater good, banning together.
This was an amazing miracle to behold. What an incredible illustration/model that the Father has left for us to use in our everyday dealings. Sisters, we need to see ourselves operating like this. It is all about the total coming together and our willful solutions.
Yes, I am my “Sister’s Keeper…the definitive unified business relationship.
